Solutions
Whether you are an end customer, retailer, wholesaler or indeed Network
Operator, AGB Global will aim to provide the right communication
solution for you.
Credit/Debit Card Processing with the New Chip and PIN Regulations
icePOS software is available on all integrated PDA's that AGB
Global supply and will communicate to a Bluetooth 50mm thermal printer
/ EMV level 1 & 2 certified card reader/pinpad, which is a similar size
to a belt-mounted mobile printer. They are basically factory sealed
units (For Chip & PIN, you need these certified devices. You cannot
use the screen of the PDA to enter your cards PIN number - this is not
secure enough. ).
The transaction will be conducted on the Windows Mobile device by the
operator and the Chip & PIN device can be passed to the customer to
enter their card and PIN number. Bluetooth means that the windows mobile
device can be fixed in the vehicle and the customer can enter their
PIN without getting into the van.
Transactions are then passed to our Cardprocessing.NET server, which
act as a gateway and then pass onto the bank.
Communications from the PDA can use any GPRS network (O2, Vodafone,
Orange etc.).
It is worth noting here that there are some plain GSM (GPRS just coming)
standalone payment terminals in the market. These are usually restricted
to Vodafone. They offer very limited integration with other terminal
software. Also, AGB have all the consolidation and reporting via Cardprocessing.NET
that these don't. These devices are effectively single function devices
designed for Mum and Dad businesses who need to take payment in the
field. The AGB solution was designed as an enterprise solution.
Transactions are automatically settled with the bank every night. The
acquirers we will support include Nat West Streamline (1st), Barclays,
Lloyds (First Data) and HSBC. After Streamline, they will be done on
a customer demand basis.
It is relatively easy to add loyalty, membership and/or corporate cards
to orders of sufficient size. AGB also plan to run icePOS on other terminal
platforms, e.g. Smartphone (whichever proves most popular), should the
full PDA functionality not be required.
